Going Dark for Earth Day 2010

Bottomless Pit (aka Jai) turned to me and told me "Mom, it's Earth Day today. We need to turn off our lights at 9:30pm, Korean time." Our youngest chimed in and agreed that we needed to that. So I informed hubby we will be joining the Earth Day once again.

By, 9:15pm we started turning the TVs off and I took out our rarely used white taper candles (Korea rarely gets a power outage, and when it does, it usually last about 10 seconds to 2 minutes, a far cry from my brown-out ridden country - Philippines).

To pass the time away, we took out the playing cards and played Bridge. Bottomless Pit and Hubby decided to chill on their beds and took a nap.

Billy and I played about 2 games and then he asked for ghost stories, real ones not made-up stories. So I decided to tell them about the creature that plagued me and my thesis mates up in the mountains of Kanlandog. That was one harrowing night.

Bottomless Pit decided to join us on the table and soon I was telling them about the haunted house that we lived in when I was in high school. Before we knew it, the hour was over. Hubby had to tell us that it was 10:30 and the lights can be turned off. Billy wistfully wished that there were more Earth Day hours like this. I kinda agree with him, too.

Dreaming of strawberries

My youngest loves strawberries, and so do I. Hubby likes them just fine but doesn't crave it like me and Billy. Jai, our eldest, doesn't particularly like them at all. Ever wonder how strawberry bush looks like?

These were taken at my hubby's boss house. Most of the strawberries haven't ripened yet.

These strawberry bushes have grown on the small hill by the house. I can imagine just opening the kitchen door and walking up to the bushes and helping yourself to a sweet juicy snack. I miss living in a house with a yard/garden.

Snow, Sand and Madness in March

A lot of people have been saying it's spring here in Korea. Really now? This is what you can see outside my window a week ago.

Even the local newspapers have been reporting the advent of spring with pictures of residents enjoying a stroll under blooming trees and shrubs. I wanna know where that place is in Korea because this is what our neighborhood looked like a couple of nights ago.

And now, we're being bombarded with sand from the Gobi desert all the way from China. The duststorm that came yesterday was one of the worst since the early '80s. Sigh, it's madness here.

Beauty Tourism Made Easy In Korea

For a lot of first-timers in the cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, it can be daunting to choose which part of the face and body to...
