Walking over water - Gaudo Island bridge

Still at the second part of our Free Tour to Buan, Wando and Guado island, it was time to go an island. But instead of taking a ferry or a car over a to the island, we walked over water! No, no, no, we didn't do a Jesus-thing. We literally walked on a pedestrian bridge from mainland Korea to Gaudo island.
Walking to the bridge, still on the Korean peninsula.

Finally on the bridge

Some of us were dancing over the bridge.

Obligatory selfie over the bridge.

Playing around.

Mother and son selfie on the bridge.

Finally on the Guado island! It was about a 15 minute walk, maybe 20 minutes for slowpokes like me. But when I saw the island, you bet I hurried my turtle pace.

I was  finally on the island! And at the beach and this tropical girl is happy. Never mind that the water is dark and filthy, and the weather is cold and grey.

The water was muddy, rocky and filled with oyster shells and oil slicks.

But hey, I am still happy. I smelled the fresh, salty beach breeze.

Back off dude! This is my rock! Can't you see I am celebrating here???

Our tour mates having selfie fun.

When the whole group finally assembled on the rocky beach, it was time for a beach dance party!

Kevin the Tour Guide brought his Bluetooth Speaker and blasted dance tunes on the beach.

Yeah, let's boogie, twerk that butt and bring it down low!

Everyone is having a blast.

Spawn actually found a nice bracelet when he was looking at the rocks and shells.

This was a great part of the tour.

Wish I had my kitchen, because we passed a number of shellfish and octopus vendors. Everything was so fresh and smelled of the sea.

A Very Naughty Folk Museum

It's the second day of the free tour "N16/17/18 Free 2D trip. Wando, Buan Fest, Temple, Island. Museum"
sponsored by Kim's Free Travel on Facebook last May 4. For this day, we first went to Minhwa Museum in Gangjin island. Minhwa means Korean folk art. It was cool learning about the history of a lot of the folk art that I have been seeing all the years around the country.

This is on the museum's gate. My mom's favorite Korean motif design.

Me, trying to be the cute foreigner.

A very Korean gazebo.

The KDI group posing on one of the installations.

A typical Korean celadon vase with the flying crane motif.

Would you believe this is a lamp post?

This was the side of the museum.

It was time to go inside the museum. Thank goodness as the weather was cold and grey AND DRIZZLING (again).

Me and the spawn with the KDI guys.
Then it is time to go another museum complex. This one where we went had a lot of ceramics and history of ceramic works in Korea. The next one where we are going have more folk art paintings and such.

Billy and his bestie, Robert.

A nice tranquil pond with a dragon spout.

Our tour group walking under the rain.

Finally we are at the main Minhwa museum. We had to sit through a funny video explaining Minhwa, Korean Folk Art and its history. In the video, there's an annoying magpie who screeches Minhwa! Minhwa! every minute or two. By mid-video, everyone was mimicking the Minhwa magpie (face-palm).

Like school children, we were instructed to pay attention to the video with the annoying magpie host.

Me and my Chinese horoscope animal.

Even the bathrooms are artfully decorated.

I warned you.

This is really not safe for work.

Hide yo kids, hide yo wife... well maybe not your wife.

Here goes....

Yes, those are ancient century old dildos.

Spawn posing with a very impressive wood.

I feel so empowered.

They had graphic paintings of sex positions plastered all over the wall.

One can even solve jigsaw puzzles and get rewarded with a moving GIF of two couples in traditional Korean hanboks, doing the ugly bump in various poses.

Yes, they had a Sex-Themed section of the museum. There were a lot of giggling and guffaws as we looked at the risque and some very graphic, um, erotic art. It was very interesting. Soon it was time to go.
Mists envelope the mountain behind the museum.

Beauty Tourism Made Easy In Korea

For a lot of first-timers in the cosmetic and plastic surgery procedures, it can be daunting to choose which part of the face and body to...
