Fruit Bento box

On eGullet.com, which I am a member, there is a thread there about Bento boxes. Bento is a single-portion takeout or home-packed meal common in Japanese cuisine. A traditional bento consists of rice, fish or meat, and one or more pickled or cooked vegetables as a side dish. Hubby wanted to bring fruits to snack on during his school breaks. Since we had these in the fridge, I decided to cut up an apple, an orange and this weird small green melon for him and put it in a Lock & Lock container. <- I love these airtight containers.

I really have no idea what this green melon is called. It smelled and tasted vaguely like a cantaloupe. Anyway, here is what hubby's fruit bento box looks like in the end. I added a couple of cherry tomatoes to give it some color.
